Single Servings
We've
turned our clocks forward. Bright yellow daffodils are in
bloom. Spring has sprung upon us all! Love is in the air
along with the birds and the bees. Invite your soulmate
to an Easter Brunch for Two and tempt their palate with
this eggsciting dish from my forthcoming book, The Last
Single Girl in the World.
Morning
After French Toast

Only
serve this if you want him or her to come back for seconds.
This French toast tastes as soft, sweet and sensuous as
your skin the night before.

- Slice 4 one-inch thick slices of
cinnamon challah bread; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the
eggs. Add ½ cup of milk and 1 tablespoon orange
zest. Stir.
- Continue to stir while adding ¼
cup maple syrup, 3 tablespoons Frangelico, and 1 teaspoon
each of vanilla powder and fresh ground nutmeg.
- Dip the bread slices into batter,
making sure both sides are covered. Allow the slices to
soak up batter. Remove slices and set aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in
pan over a low flame. Place slices in pan. Repeat if necessary.
- Cook toast slowly over a low heat,
turning frequently.
- Remove toast from pan. Arrange on
plate so slices lazily overlap each other. (Like your
bodies did the night before.)
- Cover with sliced bananas, sprinkle
with chopped walnuts, then drizzle with warm maple syrup.
- Feed each other succulent mouthfuls
and save the leftover syrup for your next tryst!
Enjoy
and have an eggstraordinary celebration!
