August Wilson Plays Come to Life at MoAD

In February MoAD collaborated with San Francisco Performing Arts Library and Museum (SFPALM) on a lecture/performance as part of a tribute to August Wilson. Titled August Wilson: Hitting For The Cycle, The African American Journey On Stage," the event, moderated by Professor Harry Elam (Stanford University) and Craig Martin (KQED), brought together some of the finest actors in the Bay Area under the direction of Margo Hall. The actors performed moving scenes from 8 of 10 August Wilson plays.

Membership rates are on the rise. Over the past 3 years, even before opening its doors, MoAD provided programming to members and friends through its relationship with other institutions. Now rates are due for an increase.

In addition to free admittance, members can take advantage of reduced pricing in the museum store on Thursday evenings (4p - 9p), when the member discount increases to 20%.
